A delicate web of fine white or coloured thread is crocheted around the egg of a quail. The resulting fabric is set in layers of resin to stabilize and seal it before removing the egg.
A kokon is a hollow but stable construction with a filigree and transparent egg form. Here the lightness and fineness mirrors the crocheted structure on the surface in ways that are visible and tangible.
Together with silver or 750 white gold the kokons are transformed into pendants or earrings. Fastened on the surface at crochet intersections the green pendants have pearls, the brown ones natural brown diamonds, and the white ones white diamonds, respectively.
